Analysis of cracks in cardan shafts and improvement measures

Update:2022-02-03 00:00
Summary:

Analysis of cracks in cardan shafts:
There are two reasons for the failure of the cardan shaft. One is the crack at the fork head of the cardan shaft, accounting for 60% of the total number of failures; the second is the fracture of the cardan shaft spline sleeve, accounting for 40% of the total number of failures.

Improvement measures for cracks in the cardan shaft:
1. Reasons for work: The gauge, levelness, height difference, etc. of the crane trolley track can be adjusted, and aluminothermic welding is performed on the track port to improve the working environment.

2. Uneven load bearing: The braking torque of the brake can be adjusted to make the four sets of brakes brake synchronously to prevent the single universal bearing from being over torqued.

3. Processing technology: By choosing a cost-effective universal shaft, the quality can be guaranteed from the material, design and process, and the equipment failure caused by quality problems can be reduced at the source.

4. Model selection: check and calculate the torque that the cardan shaft bears to verify whether the torque meets the requirements for use, and ensure that the selected cardan shaft can meet the actual required torque.

5. The reason for the fracture and crack of the universal joint shaft is closely related to its product quality, installation, bearing and working environment, in addition to the bearing torque.
